Rough Guide 9.15.12

As a primer to the Show Show tonight, I was stumbling through some new wave tunes and came across Bronski Beat's Smalltown Boy. It formed the basis for the Show Show this week as I worked my way back finding similar tracks and songs that would sound good around it.

I don't remember where I ran across Liaisons Dangereuses, but when I listened to it I thought it would be excellent bridge from the Post-Punk weirdness of Pere Ubu and Suicide. The Neue Deutsche Welle sound of the early 1980's fading into New Order's 1989 release Technique.

Deep darker tone of Twin Shadow and Trust will hold us through the second half of the first hour. Trust's debut TRST came out back towards the beginning of 2012. Twin Shadow's sophomore effort Confess came recently to generally positive reviews. It brings many sounds from the eighties into the forefront of modern music.
